Second Grade
Josie Jenkins ![]() Teaching Experience: This is my second year of teaching, but I started subbing in schools my freshman year of college.
Where I went to college: University of Montana Western
Where I went to high school: Ennis High School
My hobbies/interests: Reading, Volleyball, Working Out, Watching Movies
My greatest influencers: My mom
What made me want to be a teacher: My mom is a teacher, so I spent a lot of time in her classroom growing up. I also got a school set for Christmas one year and enjoyed "teaching" my brother and sister when they would let me. From a young age, though, I knew I wanted to work with children. My first real job was at my aunt's daycare, and I really enjoyed getting to work with the kids there. Then, I mentored for a kindergarten class my senior year of high school, which only helped confirm my decision to go to college for a degree in Elementary Education.
My favorite thing about being a teacher: I love seeing the light bulb go off when a student understands something.
I’d like you to know this about me: I truly care about your children and will do everything I possibly can to make sure they learn what they need to know to become kind, contributing members of society.

Where I went to high school: Whitehall High School

My greatest influencers: My aunt Trudy McLean.
What made me want to be a teacher: I have always wanted to be a teacher but getting to spend time in my mom’s (Mrs. Kim McLean) classroom when I was in high school and then during my first year of college I spent every break in her classroom or in Mrs. Johnson’s class is when I officially decided to go into education.
My favorite thing about being a teacher: I love the relationships that I build with my students each year. I also love seeing the light bulb moments when a student finally understands something that was hard for them.
What I love about teaching in Whitehall: I love teaching in the school that I attended as a kid. It is fun to see a lot of my classmates students coming to school now:)
I’d like you to know this about me: I want my parents of my students to know that I am always there for them and their child. I want their child to be successful and will do everything I can do to make that happen.
My favorite things: Food-Chicken Fries Steak, Sports Team-Broncos, Movie- Home Alone (or pretty much any Christmas movie).
