start as Miss Holly Harper English abilities how to terms with your sarcasm and helping us to achieve our fullest potential seniors I'm honored to have been given the opportunity to graduation ceremony for the Whitehall class of 2020 graduation is a double-edged sword because he's amazing and adults who are so excited Futures are also leaving people behind who will sorely miss those kids the sad part is in the side of graduation we're supposed to do today getting I'm going to talk about her and day-to-day decisions that are easy to overlook leadership conference about 15 years ago Icebreaker activities and share out to the group in 10 minutes MSU Extension agent with micro he shifted his paper for a moment to three or four curves stencil down and went to get coffee he later shared out that the Curves in his River were retiring from the military I looked at my paper my River had to culverts a day and a sinkhole I was not oversharing everyone not just Tom and I through their Rivers as of major life decisions really most important things as if those major decisions to find their lives more than anything else. Definition depart his River was calm and pretty straight and mine was a North American version of Homer's Odyssey but still count him among my friends delimitation of these metaphorical Rivers decisions that each person makes so they can essence of a person decisions you make everyday matter more than the major capitalized ones you are all at a point where you have to make major life decisions join the military job or state or country having done all those things I can tell you you might make the wrong choice what if you take all the best information available evaluate carefully and then choose the wrong path is unpredictable times would choose the right path and in the pass itself changes due to reasons beyond your control answer simple choose A New Path you might be knocked back a little to get up reconsider you don't get any but you might get to try the same thing again try something else it is easier to adjust major life decisions than to adjust day-to-day habits of mind and that makes sense because big decisions happen rarely and the little ones are constant because of life is not made important announcements it's made of a series of tiny moments exchange for getting out of my pajamas today I get to give one piece use this event of a major life decision as a time to take stock of the quality of your day-to-day small decisions I've watched you eggnog and I heard you too and sometime adequacy or excellence will you do the right thing or the easy today these are choices that determine your habits of mind and your happiness and they matter more than your job title degree or certificate if you matter what your resume looks like call student to Country School graduation year perfectly Master 2 Concepts it is abnormal and immoral to work between about December 20th until January 5th messages for teachers simply true when we all live by it lesson number to every single thing you do deserves a grade that one is not true and the SAS once you leave the school environment some of you will go into careers where your performance is evaluated but not your overall life your river is not graded the River on a map is graded the small decisions you make are not in this life but they are the key decisions don't show up as a benzo obstacles of the river water of the river itself how close is my sincere hope free to keep on learning sign for calling fall in love do something everyday that makes you just a little bit proud I speak for the entire staff of Whitehall schools when I say that have you watched and stretched and struggle and morph into the other adults you yourselves are accomplishment in our lives that make us proud congratulations 2020 Whitehall high school graduates school is out it is my honor to introduce you to this year's salutatorian for the class of 2020 Audrey Morrison Audrey is accompanied by her grandparents Deborah and Wayne Downey person High School Audrey lettered in football managing two years and cheer three years to plan to attend Helena college and start a degree in nursing welcome Audrey hello fellow classmates today what's a special moment in all of our lives at the end of high school but it's also the beginning of the rest of our lives these last few months of ours senior year have been unexpected but as the saying goes I give you lemons make lemonade first I would like to thank everyone from teachers to friends and family for everything that you all have done and helping leads to the success of today's graduates when I first sat down to write this speech absolutely no idea what to say I restarted the speech more than nine times and I was still at a loss I'm not going to lie I panicked and my first instinct was to just Google it and hope for the best what I had this. It brought me right back to Jane and Harper's class writing an essay turning it in and just hoping for the best I think everyone here can relate to this I am sure these past four years have been a rollercoaster ride of sad hilarious heartbreaking exciting and Unforgettable memories that we will all look back on and smile we are told High School is supposed to be the best four years of our lives and if you blink you'll miss it I can say that as these last four years come to an end that is very true it seems like just yesterday it was the beginning of our senior year and college was still a world away it's fast approaching and I don't know how I will officially manage being an adult when I still look and feel like a 12 year old without a scribe I truly believe that each and every graduating senior has the ability to do great things in life so I believe it's means a person is smart and bad grades means a person isn't is completely false hard work perseverance resilience and determination our daily actions that do not have anything to do with grades as we move forward in school doesn't Define you your transcript or apartheid I'm not the final prediction because all of us are amazing and smart individuals who shine in different ways my classmates we have successfully gone through elementary middle and high school we have gone fashion phases and now we're wrapping up equally awkward High School face more than just acquaintances we are classmates representing the Whitehall High School I will remember your faces as a people who shoved one another out of the way in the hallway the people ice chaired many last and fantastic memories with you can never be completely perfect for what life throws at you and if you struggle remember it's okay to ask for help I wish every one of the best and help you all become the person you've always dreamed of now I leave my favorite SpongeBob quotes I'll remember you all in therapy it is my honor to introduce the valedictorian for the class of 2020 Madison Loomis she has earned a perfect 4.0 GPA for all four years of High School Madison MS daughter of Jim at whs she was a member of the Spanish club for three years she served in her church young women's group for 4 years attended early morning Seminary all how the positions of the class president for four years the student body president for two years was a member of the interact club for 4 years one being vice president in two years being president 4 years in Cross Country 3 years and track 2 years and cheer and two years and drama Madison was a member of The National Society of High School Scholars for 2 years participated in the academic Olympics team for 3 years accomplishment however was a perfect attendance record for all four years she's planning on pursuing a degree in apparel entrepreneurship at Brigham Young University in Idaho this fall soccer Madison hard work has finally paid off we survive freshman year and of course English class of my classmates administrators mentors and friends at whs and helped us get to this day I'd like to personally and God help the person I am today stop by to get to the part where we graduate so I'll keep this short High School searching the internet hours watching all the videos titled the best graduation speech ever I was still at a loss for what I would say to you today you seem I spent all this time waiting for the inspiration to come to me and that was precisely my problem the waiting the past thirteen years of rice and more especially the past four sleepy waiting for this exact moment graduation wishing for our last also been wishing our lives away counting down the days and now we're finally here those days in between the days of waiting and then while we grew up discovered ourselves looking back on. High School actually over did I get the absolute most out of my experience here in the speeches about to regret to say we're sitting here because of all the amazing things accomplished and the bright future that Now lies ahead of us so the lesson I've learned in looking back the action that we can take it moving forward I'd like to share with you piece of advice that I've always carried with me this phrase came for my grandpa on a phone call before my very first cross country meet he said gas left in the tank how often in our lives do a little bit of gas left in the tank waiting for that perfect moment as we've all experienced is don't wait because while you're waiting for that one. you just might be letting a million small moment slip away so you believe in the potential for the small moments to change your life can you think about it it seems so foolish for us to plan so far out ahead we all know we aren't even promised tomorrow do you have is today so instead of waiting for all those things that aren't even here yet so kisan making today that it is my personal challenge to each of you to gas left in the tank use it up everyday and I promise you look fat no wondering what here today to announce this year's recipients of the golden W award I want turn off congratulating the Whitehall High School class of 2020 I'm extremely proud of all of you and look forward to seeing what the future has in store for you now for the presentation of the golden W award the gold has a specific list of criteria given to a senior boy and Senior girl attended Whitehall High School all four years they have maintained a 2.5 or higher GPA for all four years participated in at least two activities each year in high school and have received a minimum of six parts butter Strother for your career here Whitehall these student-athletes have never been suspended from any activity for contract or mhsa violations they've also demonstrated qualities of leadership dedication citizenship character during our involvement in Whitehall High School activities this year's female Award winner is a shenoy for times in basketball to attract too involved and wanting cross-country Ashley was Act Allstate all four years of high school she was an all-conference selection and basketball her junior year as his future plans are to attend the University of montana-western to pursue a degree in Health and Human Performance issues male recipient is Mike Wilkinson Mike Wilkinson let her four times in wrestling and three and Football Mike was a state Placer in wrestling two times in high school placing see if both times at 132 he was a key contributor to this year fourth-place wrestling team finish at the state tournament Mike future plans are to attend the University of Montana to pursue a degree in Business congratulations to these two individuals you're both very deserving and I've represented Whitehall High School Community with dignity and class once again congratulations to the graduating class of 2020 and go charge it class of 2020 I'm honored today to share some information with you about scholarship winner senior graduating class first we have the Jan and Sky breitenfeldt Memorial Scholarship this scholarship has offered to Whitehall School graduate attending Montana Tech who scored 24 or better on the ACT the scholarship is renewable for up to four years and it is the donors intend to fully support the recipients tuition books fees room and board congratulations to Ashland Allison next we have the Barrick golden sunlight to $750 rewards will be rewarded to a high school grad Whitehall high school graduate and be accepted to an approved School selection was based upon academic performance leadership citizenship and career aspirations the winners were Brittany and Abigail Howard congratulations next we have the Dorothy Shaw Memorial the amount varies on the scholarship and this award is given to seniors from Whitehall High School who have a 3.0 GPA or higher that have 15 total credits from English social studies science or foreign language this winter was Madison Loomis congratulations nextrev the Whitehall booster club $250 reward will be given to two seniors with a 2.75 GPA or better. dissipated at least 3 extra curricular activities those winners were a shenoy and Madison Loomis next week Emory's talk scholarship to $500 Awards to students shown outstanding achievement in academics extra curricular activities and community service or other activities and a shenoy congratulations next we have the sand Harper Hunter Ward These funds were big fleas to high school in the fall of 2017 in honor of his late wife Sandra Harper hunt this annual scholarship is $1,000 record what is community service and volunteerism Madison next we have the Mary Ann Larson Mary Ann Maloney Larson was the Whitehall  Whitehall School secretary for 35 years involved in the lives of students from their freshman years to their senior years and the hope is that the scholarship will help Propel a student into their future towards of $1,000 will be given to a graduating senior to be applied towards College tuition and fees this winter was Abby Howard next we have the Brigham Young university-idaho, see Rick's grants for full tuition up to $6,450 this goes to matter we also have the barracks dependent scholarship this is for $6,000 also to Madison Loomis and last week of the Montana academic achievement scholarship this is for thousand dollars to Abby Howard Clash of 20/20 Experience a very unique senior year this year has brought with it obstacles that people have yet to experience in their lifetimes with change going on buckle buckle down and focus on your task your ability to overcome and adapt will set you up for great things in your future congratulations graduating class of 2020 go Trojans additional scholarships include the Whitehall saddle club offers a $350 scholarship to a high school rodeo Club member or a family member of the Whitehall Saddle Club this year's winner is a shenoy rotary Stewart Memorial Scholarship commemorates the life of Stuart Way Whitehall Rotary Club hopes that the scholarship funds will motivate deserving students the stewardship of resources the knowledge and the commitment to a peaceful world that Mr way demonstrated in his life and for which Rotary Club stands for this year's recipients are Madison Loomis and Abigail Howard the sacred scholarship was Carol and Cora's Bakery in recognition for their influence they have and their descendants have for have had for more than sixty years at Whitehall High School in Madison Loomis both received the scholarship $4,000 Billy Hess was awarded the Montana academic achievement scholarship for 1500 through the Montana University system Rebecca Wagner has earned a full tuition scholarship $2,000 athletic scholarship to Central Wyoming Community College lastly the Mariah's challenge scholarship is given to seniors who epitomize the ideals of Rise challenge which is dedicated to the prevention of underage drinking and promoting healthy adolescent Lifestyles this year Madison Loomis and Ashton noise are the recipients congratulations to the class of 2020 you taking me back repast you're taking me back appliance smart just for kids we've reached the moment the graduates have been waiting for presentation of diplomas students receive their diploma have met all of the qualifications and requirements of the state of Montana and Whitehall High School diplomas will be presented by Scott free though graduates please
