Digital Learning from Home
This year, Whitehall School District is offering a digital option, Acellus, for students to complete their coursework from home, on any device with internet access. Acellus was created by the International Academy of Science in 2001. Acellus combines technology and learning science to help students master content, learning more effectively (greater mastery) and efficiently (in less time). Backed by scientific research, Acellus delivers online instruction, compliant with the latest standards, through high-definition video lessons made more engaging with multimedia and animation. Each lesson is carefully designed to connect with previously learned knowledge like interlocking building blocks. Assignments are graded, so students and parents have timely feedback on progress.
Acellus is available for all grade levels, PK-12. As with on-site school, there are prerequisites for certain courses or levels of courses, so the teachers, guidance counselors, and principals will work with students to ensure they are appropriately placed in coursework. At the menu on the left side of this page, click on the tabs for more information on the program and the available courses at each level.
For students utilizing Acellus, there will be Zoom instructional support / tutoring sessions available with Whitehall staff. Those sessions will occur on a scheduled basis in both the K-5 and 6-12. This schedule will be disseminated once it is determined.
